Hummingbird Behavior

Hummingbirds are very territorial birds. Even the male and female hummingbirds establish separate territories. Hummingbirds communicate by making visual displays. These birds are omnivores. They eat nectar, but also insects and spiders. Hummingbirds compete for nectar and insects.
